How LeadLock AI Automates SMS Follow-Ups

SMS follow-up works when it’s timely and respectful. LeadLock AI connects to Twilio so you can send automated welcome texts, nurture sequences, and reminders—with reply detection so the sequence stops the moment the lead responds.

Twilio messaging

You connect your Twilio account in LeadLock AI (account SID, auth token, and a phone number). Once connected, automations can send SMS to leads. Messages support personalization (e.g. first name) and are logged in the lead timeline.

  • Dedicated or shared Twilio number
  • Outbound SMS from automations and AI agents
  • Inbound replies create or update leads and stop sequences

AI replies and follow-up sequences

When a lead doesn’t reply, you can run a short sequence: e.g. Day 1 welcome, Day 2 “Still interested?”, Day 5 “Last ping.” If they reply at any step, the automation stops and you’re notified. AI agents can also reply to inbound SMS so the first touch is instant.

  1. New lead created → instant SMS (or AI first message)
  2. No reply → wait 24–48 hours → send next message
  3. Reply at any time → stop sequence, notify team, continue in inbox
Stop rules
LeadLock AI stops follow-up sequences when the lead replies, so you never double-text someone who’s already engaged.

Campaigns and workflows

SMS is one action type in your automation workflows. You can combine it with webhooks, status changes, and tags. For example: new lead → send SMS → if no reply in 2 days → add tag “Needs follow-up” and send one more SMS.

  • Multi-step campaigns with delays
  • Reply detection and stop rules
  • Full history in lead timeline
